What started in 2023 as a YouTube channel dedicated to Desi Hip Hop has grown into something bigger — a space to document, discuss, and celebrate the sound of a culture that often goes unheard.

Music’s been part of my life since I was a teenager, starting with classic rock and metal, and later evolving into a deep love for hip hop. It wasn’t just a hobby — it became an obsession.

I’ve worked jobs, dabbled in businesses, and explored different paths, but nothing lit me up the way talking about music did — breaking it down, analyzing it, and championing artists who move the needle. That’s why I created Desi Renaissance.

This platform is rooted in Indian Hip Hop but also reaches out to the South Asian diaspora — from local cyphers to global scenes. Whether it’s a young rapper from Bihar or a lyricist in Toronto pushing boundaries, this site exists to document their stories and sounds with care.
